Victor M. DiBattista

Victor M. DiBattista is the founding partner of the VMD Law Group, LLC, a financial services law firm which focuses exclusively on banking, securities and insurance matters.
Mr. DiBattista counsels banking institutions, investment advisers, broker-dealers, investment and private equity funds, mortgage banking firms, insurance firms and other financial organizations on a wide variety of corporate and regulatory matters, such as mergers and acquisitions, marketing arrangements and joint ventures, corporate governance, legislative and regulatory developments, vendor relationships, new products and services, regulatory compliance and best practices and procedures.
Previously, Mr. DiBattista served as Of Counsel with Pepper Hamilton LLP in Pittsburgh, where he advised and provide legal counsel to numerous financial firms throughout the country.
He also has significant experience as in-house counsel with several major banking organizations, including more than 15 years in an executive capacity with PNC Bank in Pittsburgh. At PNC, Mr. DiBattista worked primarily with the capital markets, derivatives, investment advisory, brokerage and insurance functions and was responsible for all legal and regulatory issues related to corporate structure, governance and operations; development of new products and services; governmental affairs and legislative oversight; and acquisitions, joint ventures and other marketing arrangements.
Mr. DiBattista also served as Senior Vice President and Director of Alternative Investments for PNC Advisors, the investment advisory division of PNC Bank, N.A. There, he supervised the development and implementation of all alternative investment products and strategies, including hedge funds, private equity and real estate funds, and equity derivatives and options strategies.
Mr. DiBattista has served on numerous state and federal bank and securities trade association committees, including the ABA Securities Association and the ABA Insurance Association, and has testified on behalf of clients and trade associations at numerous state and federal legislative committee hearings. He is also a frequent lecturer on various banking and securities law matters.
Mr. DiBattista is a Licensed Securities Professional (Series 7 and 66) and a member of the Pennsylvania bar.
